Hanoi FC successfully defends V.League crown after beating SLNA
The highlights of the match also included injuries among the Hanoi FC team after an intense competition schedule.
Hanoi Football Club has retained its championship after winning 1-0 over Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) team at the opponent field of Vinh Stadium on September 19.
From the start, Hanoi FC found difficulties to break the solid and multi-layer defense of the rivals. While the rising-star strikers including Nguyen Quang Hai, Pape Omar or Nguyen Van Quyet were “deathly blocked”, central defender Nguyen Thanh Chung grasped the spotlight when scoring the goal at the 54th minute.
Particularly, during both halves, Hanoi FC team chose to play the defense and counterattack tactics.
The highlights of the match also included injuries among the Hanoi FC team after an intense competition schedule, including Pham Van Nam, who performed well at the left-wing-back position when taking over Nguyen Van Dung, who also suffered a knee injury.
The absence of Doan Van Hau, who joined Dutch first division club SC Heerenveen earlier this month, was also a weakness of Hanoi FC as he can play well at both left-back and central-back.
Hanoi FC experienced the hardest match in the season with SLNA team. However, the superior head-to-head record was a big source of motivation for the Hanoi team to wrap the crown of the V-League 2019.
