Hanoi ensures to supply stable power during hot days
EVN Hanoi commits to limiting power cuts during hot days, Vice Director of Electricity of Vietnam in Hanoi (EVN Hanoi) Vu Quang Hung said at the regular press conference of Hanoi Party Committee on April 5.
At the regular press conference of Hanoi Party Committee held on April 5, the plan of electricity supply in the city in this summer was paid a special attention by delegates.
At the meeting, Vice Director of EVN Hanoi Vu Quang Hung said electricity consumption in Hanoi is forecast to increase 10.8% this summer, compared with last year, reaching the peak of 3,491 MW.
To ensure the city's power supply in this dry season and for 2016 - 2017, the agency has directed the subordinate units to review the situation of electricity supply in 2015 and implement solutions for power supply in 2016, Hung said.
At present, EVN Hanoi is raising the capacity of several local transformer stations and upgrading the wire system. The construction of a transformer station near Noi Bai Airport and a new wire connecting two stations in Dong Anh and Van Tri is scheduled to be completed before May 15.
The agency commits to minimize power cuts during hot days, he noted.
During the meeting, the municipal Department of Construction said residents in some districts of Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, Hoan Kiem, and Dong Da might meet water shortages this summer.
The construction of the second water pipeline taken from the Da River in Hoa Binh province that started in October 2015, can not be put into operation for this summer as planned, according to the department.
At present, water plants in the city are providing about 900,000 cubic meters per day and plan to add 66,000 cubic metres more to the whole supply system per day in May.
The department has asked water plants to deploy technical measures to limit losses, as well as implement regular water quality monitoring and supervising works.
