Hanoi ensures steady power distribution amid scorching heat
According to EVNHANOI, the total electric output in May reached 1,588.61 million kWh, up 7.54% year-on-year.
Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) has conducted regular reviews and tests of medium and low voltage grids to guarantee safe and stable power supply for locals and factories as they are struggling against the scorching heat of this summer.
According to EVNHANOI, the total electric output in May reached 1,588.61 million kWh, up 7.54% year-on-year.
Although the power consumption in May surged, especially on May 18-20 when the temperatures in Hanoi peaked to around 40 degrees Celsius, the electricity distribution was ensured for all political and socio-economic events as well as the locals’ demands.
To ensure stable supply, EVNHANOI has signed agreements with 139 of its key clients who consume 3 million kWh or over each per year in the implementation of the demand response program (DR) by May 2019.
The corporation is continuing its survey, communication and mobilization to encourage other key clients to join in the DR program.
Vietnam’s National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) predicts Hanoi would experience a number of blazing hot spells in the upcoming time.
To ensure the constant power distribution, EVNHANOI will demand its relevant units to arrange labor forces and cease interrupting power distribution for power grid upgrading.
The locals are also encouraged to use electricity economically and efficiently.
