Hanoi needs to ease density in the city’s concentrated isolation areas to prevent Covid-19 cross-infection.
Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said at the inspection paid on May 31 at the Military School of Hanoi Capital High Command in Son Tay town, one of the quarantine camps in the city.
The move is necessary because the detection of 27 cases of coronavirus infection at school were found that need more drastic prevention measures in concentrated isolation areas, Ngoc Anh said.
He requested that people who have completed the 21-day quarantine period but shared a room with a Covid-19 patient, should be quarantined for another 14 days.

The city is always determined to ensure the safety for two important Covid-19 fighting forces, including health workers and and those working at quarantine camps, Hanoi's mayor stressed.
He asked the Hanoi Department of Health to prioritize Covid-19 vaccination for staffs and sanitation workers in concentrated isolation areas.
According to the Hanoi Department of Health, there are 927 people under quarantine at the Military School of Hanoi Capital High Command. They all made close contact with Covid-19 patients. In the past few days, 27 of them have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus and transferred to hospital for treatment.
Director of the municipal health department Tran Thi Nhi Ha said that to ensure the safety of people in the isolation area and avoid cross-infection, the Military School will only allow rooms for four to six people.
It is expected that Hanoi will have 72 concentrated isolation centers with the capacity of over 30,000 beds. The city is training staffs in the centers to prevent cross-contamination of Covid-19 in the isolation areas and infection from there to the community.
However, due to the rapid mutation and spread of the novel coronavirus, it is necessary to be flexible in the pandemic prevention measures and to make appropriate adjustments in concentrated quarantine camps, Ha noted.
