The donation consists of 200,000 face masks produced by Vietnamese enterprises. They meet quality standards prescribed by Vietnam’s Ministry of Health and are certified with CE marking of the European Union.
Specifically, the donation consists of 150,000 masks from Hanoi city to region of Ile-de-France, 20,000 masks from Hoan Kiem district to Toulouse city and other 30,000 masks from Dong Da district to the town of Choisy-le-Roi.
According to Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, the Covid-19 evolution is still complicated, thus, international cooperation and solidarity is needed to curb the pandemic spread and minimize its impacts on every country in the world.
Vietnam appreciates drastic measures that the French government has taken to control Covid-19 infection in the community and Vietnamese citizens always share with the French people’s difficulties in the fight against Covid-19, the Hanoi mayor added.
"Although the gift is not highly valuable financially and unable to meet actual needs of the epidemic prevention in your country, I believe it is meaningful in this difficult time of the ravaging pandemic," Chung stressed.
For his part, French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery expressed his sincere thanks for Hanoi’s meaningful gift.
