The Ministry of Industry and Trade released the report at the workshop "Applying Technology to Develop Modern, Sustainable E-commerce and Logistics" held in Hanoi on May 16.
According to the report, the country's total export sales in 2023, while down 4.6% from 2022, still reached $354.7 billion.
In the face of difficulties, provinces and cities have been making efforts to promote the development of industrial production, trade, and import-export activities in 2024 to fulfill the socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025, the report said.

The top ten provinces and cities in terms of export turnover in 2023 are Ho Chi Minh City with $42 billion; Bac Ninh ($39.3 billion); Binh Duong ($30.6 billion); Haiphong ($26.8 billion); Thai Nguyen ($25.7 billion); Bac Giang ($24.5 billion); Dong Nai ($21.6 billion); Phu Tho ($10.6 billion); and Vinh Phuc (nearly $10 billion).

The ten provinces with the lowest export turnover are Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Bac Kan, Ninh Thuan, Cao Bang, Dak Nong, Ha Giang, Quang Binh, and Tuyen Quang.

The report shows that exports of domestically invested enterprises reached $95.5 billion in 2023, down 0.3% from 2022.
