Hanoi will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024) with fireworks at 31 locations across the city.

The pyrotechnic shows aim not only to inspire visitors with an upbeat and lively atmosphere but also to arouse citizens' pride in Hanoi and the capital's significant historical events.

As planned, Hanoi will hold 31 fireworks shows simultaneously at 30 locations across the city within 15 minutes starting from 21:30 on October 9, 2024.

In particular, the largest fireworks display will be set up at My Dinh National Stadium and Fl racecourse area, Phu Do Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, with 800 fireworks shells launched from 24 pyrotechnic rags.

In addition, other aerial fireworks with 600 pyrotechnic shells each will be launched at eight other tourist and cultural destinations, including Hanoi Moi Newspaper Headquarters, Hanoi Post Office (Hoan Kiem District); Lac Long Quan Flower Garden (Tay Ho District); Coconut Island in Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung District); Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong District); Son Tay Ancient Citadel (Son Tay Town); Tam Hiep Lake (Thanh Tri District); Dong Anh District Sports Center, and others.

Meanwhile, ground fireworks are expected to be held in other districts and towns, including

Ngoc Khanh Lake in Ba Dinh District, Lu Temple Lake in Hoang Mai District, Hoang Cau Lake in Hoang Cau District, and Cau Giay Park in Cau Giay District, among others.

The Hanoi Municipal People's Committee assigned the Hanoi Capital Command to manage the event, coordinate with relevant units and localities to implement the fireworks plans, ensure traffic at the fireworks sites, and provide absolute safety for people before and after the event.

The liberation of the capital, Hanoi, on October 10, 1954, marked an important turning point, opening a new glorious period in the history of Thang Long - Dong Do - Hanoi. The capital was completely free from the yoke of colonialism. Since that day, the Vietnamese workers have enjoyed true freedom and become real masters of their lives, starting to build a new society that opened the era of socialist revolution in Vietnam.
