Anh Kiet 07:16, 2019/08/06
Currently, Hanoi has established safe vegetable production in nearly 5,500 hectares; 76 key breeding communes with 3,810 large-scale farms away from residential areas; 148 models of high-tech agricultural applications; 121 food safety chains, among others.
In order to meet the demand for clean and safe agricultural products, Hanoi’s agriculture has developed safe food chains in different production areas, linking with regions across the country, with encouraging results.

Currently, Hanoi has established safe vegetable production in nearly 5,500 hectares; 76 key breeding communes with 3,810 large-scale farms away from residential areas; 148 models of high-tech agricultural applications; 121 food safety chains, among others.

Chairman of the Hanoi Farmer Association Le Trong Khue said that the expansion of agricultural production over the years has been paid attention to by cities and provinces nationwide, especially in ensuring stable consumption for farm produce.

In many localities, production linkages have helped farmers raise the value of their products, Khue added.

In the chains, many provinces and cities across the country such as Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, among others, have supplied safe farm produce to Hanoi. In particular, through business-matching programs, Hanoi has formed modern and stable chains of production, processing and consumption.

Establishing information channels and supporting a sustainable closed consumption chain

According to agricultural experts, it is necessary to establish a communication channel to learn about the demand and develop the supply chain and in this way, form a sustainable closed food chain.

Enterprises in provinces and cities need to coordinate more closely with Hanoi’s authorities in controlling and managing quality in production, processing, and consumption, said Chu Phu My, director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

He added that in the time ahead, his department will implement the decree on post-inspection and make public the information on product and quality. Therefore, provinces and cities within the chain should  encourage enterprises to develop safe food chains before supplying to Hanoi.
