Hanoi, Belgium's Wallonie-Bruxelles region strengthen cultural heritage preserve cooperation

Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung met with Anna Lange - Head of government representatives of the French-speaking Belgian Community and the Belgium`s Wallonie-Bruxelles area in Hanoi on June 24.
At the meeting, Anna Lange highlighted Wallonie-Bruxelles area has established a comprehensive cooperation relationship with Vietnam in the past 20 years and become an important bridge between Vietnam and Belgium.

In the cultural field, she said that the Wallonie-Bruxelles has implemented many cooperation projects with the country, including the preserve and promoting of the cultural heritage, preservation and restoration of museum heritage, setting up of project on conservation and promotion of the heritage in Thang Long Citadel, and support for preparation of the new project on Providing information and communicating on the protection and promotion of the Hanoi Old Quarters heritage.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the representative office establishment in Vietnam, the Wallonie-Bruxelles will hold many activities, including literature night scheduled to take place at the Temple of Literature, Anna Lange added.
She also expressed that the Hanoi authorities will facilitate this upcoming event to be organised successful.
Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung highly appreciated the Wallonie-Bruxelles government's assistance, cooperation and experience-sharing to Hanoi in the past time.
He hoped that in the coming time, the Wallonie-Bruxelles will continue to participate in Hanoi's project on the restoration and embellishment of the Thang Long Citadel relic.
The valuable experience of experts from the Wallonie-Bruxelles has a great significance for the preservation and promotion of traditional values, Chairman Chung stressed.
He also affirmed that Hanoi will closely cooperate in the activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Wallonie-Bruxelles's representative office establishment in Vietnam.
