Hanoi announces a planning of new Red River-based water plant

The Hanoi`s Department of Planning - Architecture held a ceremony to announce and hand over a planning of a new water plant, phase 1, using surface water from the Hong (Red) River in its Lien Hong commune, Dan Phuong district on August 24.
The project aims to supply sufficient clean water to residents in southern and northern districts of the capital.
The plant construction is planned to start in this October.

According to the Hanoi Water Limited Company (Hawaco), the first stage of the project, which is expected to provide 150,000 cubic metres of clean water a day, will be completed in 2018.
The second stage is scheduled to finish by 2020 to raise the capacity to 300,000 cubic meters a day. 
Chairman of the Dan Phuong district People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Hoang pledged that the district will work closely with Hawaco to implement the project as scheduled.
