Handicraft sector releases Vietcraft Excellence label
The Secretariat of the National Trademark Programme, Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Trade in collaboration with the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association (Vietcraft) held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 17 to announce the national label for Vietnamese handicrafts - Vietcraft Excellence.
Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association Chairman Do Nhu Dinh said, the initiative of Vietcraft Excellence is based on sustainable values of ecology, economy, society and culture in accordance with international standard practices and trends.
To achieve the accreditation, handicraft businesses must meet the sustainable core values including 46 criteria for their production and consumption processes.
According to Vietcraft Chairman Do Nhu Dinh, the accredited enterprises will enhance the competitiveness in both domestic and foreign market.
They also see greater chances to access the European market, to which Vietnam exports more than 550 million EUR worth of handicrafts each year, he said.
