Gulfood Dubai 2018: Opportunities for Vietnamese products
Vietnamese agricultural, food, and beverage products have attracted large interest from visitors and customers from all over the world at Gulfood Dubai 2018, the world`s largest annual food and beverage trade event.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Vietnam has its national pavilion at Gulfood Dubai, bringing a total of 24 enterprises to join the event, informed the Ministry of Industry & Trade.
In particular, participating enterprises have brought diversified products, showing an effort to innovate and restructure towards sustainable development.
New debutants in the Vietnamese product line-up this year are processed and organic products, attracting great interest from buyers and visitors at the event. This is seen as an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises operating in the food and beverage (F&B) sector to integrate into the global market through Gulfood Dubai.
As enterprises jointly display local products at a national pavilion, it has created favorable conditions to facilitate trade activities and promoting Vietnamese green agriculture with its best products to international buyers.
The event is the first major international food industry trade show in 2018, which runs from February 18-22 at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), United Arab Emirates (UAE).
With more than 5,000 exhibitors at the event, Gulfood Dubai 2018 features more than 120 national pavilions, according to the press release. The event will also see hundreds of international heads of state, ministers, and government officials as well as scores of national trade associations eager to ink lucrative bi-lateral trade agreements among tens of thousands of anticipated visitors.
Following the successful debut of the sectorised approach in 2017, Gulfood 2018 will continue with this model to further increase accessibility and trading potential. Tens of thousands of finished food and beverage products will be featured in halls dedicated to eight of the biggest commodity trading sectors: Beverages; Dairy; Fats & Oils; Health, Wellness & Free-From; Pulses, Grains & Cereals; Meat & Poultry; Power Brands; and World Food.
Citing the long-established reputation of Gulfood as a key driver in fostering innovation across the local, regional, and global food and beverage supply chain, DWTC officials revealed on its official website that the on-site sales generated by 95,000-plus buyers and visitors at Gulfood Dubai 2018 will contribute heavily to a global food market expected to generate a revenue of US$3.03 trillion by 2020, according to Research and Markets, a Dublin-based market research company.
