Golden Kite Awards 2018 receives 144 cinematographic submissions
The annual Golden Kite Awards aim to honor individuals and groups who make significant contributions to domestic cinema.
The 2018 Golden Kite Awards organizing board has received 144 cinematographic submissions, including 14 movies, 13 TV series, 14 cartoons, 61 documentary film, 14 scientific films and 26 short films from 50 film production establishments across the country, Cong Luan newspaper reported, citing a press conference on April 4.
Fourteen movies will compete in this event including Season For Love Songs, Ong Kinh Sat Nhan, Mandarin Quynh, Chang Vo cua Em, Sieu Sao Sieu Ngo, Daddy Issues, 100 Days of Sunshine, 11 Hopes, Go Go Sisters, etc.
In addition, the awards received 13 TV series, including Ngay ay minh da yeu, Gao nep gao te, Ca mot doi an oan, etc.
The Golden Kite Awards honor cinematic works which are artistically creative, imbued with national identity, rich in human values and have a positive influence on society.
There will be a “Golden Kite Award”, “Silver Kite Award” and certificates of merit for the best works in different categories such as short film, animation, documentary, scientific film and TV series.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Cinema Association will honor two deceased artists, including People's Artist Pham Khac and Nguyen The Doan, who have many contributions to Vietnam’s cinema.
The award ceremony will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 12 and broadcast live on VTV2. In addition, some participating cinematic works will be screened for free in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from April 5 to 10. A workshop on film composition and TV series will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 9.
