German, Vietnamese artists to perform "Fisherman and a Golden Fish" play
After the first joint-effort of the play entitled Caucasian Chalk Circle in 2014, the Hanoi-based Youth Theatre are cooperating with German director Dominik Gunther from Hamburg and puppeteers from Dresden to stage a play entitled Fisherman and a Golden Fish.
Fisherman and a Golden Fish play is a combination of a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm and a popular story in Vietnam.
The play also utilizes audio clips, allowing the audience to hear voices of Vietnamese and German children.
A German and Vietnamese language version of the play will be performed in April 2016 with the puppeteers from Dresden.
This is a cooperation project between the Hanoi-based Youth Theatre and Germany's Dresden young Theatre with support of the Goethe Institute in Hanoi, aiming to foster cultural exchanges and share experiences on stage art between artists and children of Vietnam and Germany.
The Fisherman and a Golden Fish play is to be performed at the Youth Theatre, 11 Ngo Thi Nham street, on November 28 and 29.
Free tickets are available at the theatre and the Goethe Institute, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc street, beginning November 23.
The play also utilizes audio clips, allowing the audience to hear voices of Vietnamese and German children.
