The film, produced in 2016, is about a 17-year-old  boy named Jan who spends most of his time online. As the daring warrior Fenris, he is one of the best players in the computer game Battle of Utgard. He’s preparing for an important online tournament when he’s suddenly expelled from the game.
He frantically realizes he’s been hacked by another player. Not only is his internet down, his debit card and cellphone are on the blink, too. When he realizes that the dark magician “Loki” is behind this, Jan starts the biggest quest of his life – in the real world! He goes on a search for the evildoer and gets to know the aroused gamer girl Karo who has also been hacked.
As the two very different teens stumble from one catastrophe to the next on their trip, real life and virtual gaming reality start to intermingle in weird ways. The movie was directed by Florian Schnell, who was born 1984 in Lörrach. He studied Scenic Arts at the University Hildesheim before he began to study at the film academy in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
His films are characterized by creative mixtures of animation and real film and have earned national and international prices. The movie was awarded with the Children’s and Youth Film Prize LEO in 2016, 37th Film Festival Max Ophülus Prize and 45th International Student Film Festival.
In Hanoi, the movie will be screened at the Hanoi Goethe Institut, 56 - 58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street and at Salon Van hoa Ca Phe Thu Bay, 1st floor, 19B Pham Ngoc Thach, District 3 in HCM City on April 26. Language: German with English and Vietnamese subtitles and free admission.
