Free tour of craft streets in Old Quarters saws positive results

After a month of launching, the free tour of craft streets in the Old Quarters for tourists provided by Hanoi Tourism Department in collaboration with Hanoi Tourism Joint Stock Company (Vietnamtourism) has really become a special feature among the city`s tourism products
Hanoi city recently offered the free tour of craft streets for visitors who will be provided with maps, tourist publications and information about Hanoi tourism sites
Each tour guided by competent students, running from 28 Hang Dau St through Hang Dao, Hang Bac, Hang Bo, Lan Ong, Hang Thiec, Hang Quat, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Ba Kieu Temple lasts 30 minutes and departs at 9.30am, 10.15am, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday (except holidays).

The tour of craft streets in the Old Quarters has offered to tourists many memorable experiences. After joining the tour, a tourist Truong Thanh Vinh who comes from HCM City shared: "I am really surprised with the tour. Thanks to your guide, I understood that the most unique feature of Hanoi's Old Quarters is craft streets".
After participating in the journey on foot through Hang Dao, Hang Bac, Hang Bo, Lan Ong, Hang Thiec, Made Lyn who come from the UK said: "The architecture of the Old Quarters is unique with small tube, narrow and old houses. Especially, I have a chance to learn and enjoy the cuisine of the Hanoi streets".
According to General Director of Vietnamtourism Le Vu Trang Vietnamtourist, the free tour of craft streets in the Old Quarters is the first part of four free walking tours held by the Company, the municipal Department of Tourism and some tourism training schoolsin Hanoi.
The tour has received a positive feedback from visitors in the past month, Trang added.
Only around 100 visitors joined the tour in the first week, but currently it attracts about 200-300 passengers each week.
In order to better promote the city's tourism, Vietnamtourism will launch three other free tours in the coming time for tourists who want to learn more about Hanoi’s history and culture, typical architectural projects, combined East and West culture in the Old Quarters.
Beside the free tour of craft streets, Vietnamtourism is preparing to provide a free tour of discovering the typical architectures of Hanoi.
Visitors will be provided with maps, tourist publications and information about Hanoi tourism sites and other services (hotels, restaurants, transport, and entertainment spots).
The next free tour is expected to help visitors exploring the Ngoc Son Temple, the Cathedral, Ba Da pagoda and Ly Quoc Su Pagoda.
Joining the free tour of craft streets in the Old Quarters, many visitors were impressed with the young guiders who are competent and enthusiastic students.
Particularly, the model linking between the State, the school and travel enterprises that has showed the positive results, should be expanded. Thanks to the model, the tourism training school has effective training methods, businesses reduce manpower, but tourism Hanoi also has a unique product.
