Fourth European Literature Days open in Ho Chi Minh City

Several activities will be held during the fourth European Literature Days, which take place from May 12 to 15, including a space to feature a traffic safety playground, book covers, film posters adapted from literary works, among others .
The fourth European Literature Days event was launched on May 12 at Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, featuring various literary and cultural activities, Voice of Vietnam reported.

The event attracts the participation of 10 European countries namely the UK, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Belgian Wallonie - Bruxelles region.
Activities regarding the introduction of books are organized at the main stage of the Book Street during the event. In addition, an interactive space was set up to display comic characters where children can draw their favorite characters such as Lucky Luke, Tin Tin, Smurfs, Spirou, Asterix, and others.
The "Book bus" is a place to showcase European literary books that have been translated into Vietnamese, which readers can read on site or borrow to enjoy reading at home. The organizing board also arranges a space to feature a traffic safety playground, book covers and posters of movie adapted from literary works so that children can play motion games. The booths of European literature offer many forms of discounts from 20 to 30%.
European Literature Days is an annual activity of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) held in May. This annual festival has been held in Hanoi since 2011 by EUNIC, with support from the EU delegation.
This year's festival The 9th European Literature Days runs in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the first time in Da Nang until May 25. The event includes book presentation and reading, workshop, exhibition and film screenings, and others.
