Four projects worth a combined VND7.46 trillion (US$320.5 million) in the fields of high-tech equipment manufacturing, smart electronics, pharmaceuticals, and radiation-resistant plastics, will be carried out in the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.

Accordingly, Viettel Group will start the construction of a complex of high-tech industrial production on an area of 9.1 hectares. The complex will become a center for testing and manufacturing hi-tech equipment of the group.
The giant telecom carrier will also build the Viettel Research and Development Center on an area of 13.2 hectares, which is planned to be an incubator for key projects, manufacturing defense equipment, electronic and mobile carrier gadgets and network infrastructure including 5G (the fifth generation of cellular network technology) and IoT (the Internet of Things), among others.
Viettel will support and collaborate with the management board of the park to develop applications for smart city in environment management, urban lighting, smart parking lot, traffic management, security supervision, among others.
The second project is a smart electronics manufacturing plant, which is built by Vinsmart, a branch of the tech and real estate conglomerate Vingroup. The first phase of the plant will be built in an area of 4.8 hectares.
The other two projects are of Meadiplantec in the field of pharmaceutical production and Phenikaa Group for heat-resistant polyester resins manufacturing.
The Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park is currently home to 91 projects which have a combined registered investment of over VND85.8 trillion (nearly US$3.7 billion). Of the figures, there are 45 projects in the fields of training, researching, manufacturing and processing of software, high-tech products of information technology, biotechnology, new material, automation and projects on development of technical and social infrastructures.
