The Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has recently launched online meeting platform Zavi, the first video-conferencing tool made by Vietnamese engineers, Zing.vn reported.
Zavi can cater to a meeting of up to 100 people during 24 consecutive hours, with high security, stable transmission and lower cost. It will be regularly updated and free for download and use to the public nationwide. The latest version has full basic features for online conferencing.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, MIC Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung thanked the Zavi development team for the efforts and emphasized that the platform is a great aspiration made a reality by Vietnamese IT engineers who have wished to manufacture products of international standards.
Hung then chaired the first online meeting on Zavi platform with the Departments of Information and Communications of Ha Giang and Quang Ninh provinces to discuss the Bluezone, an application for tracking Covid-19 patients.
The deputy minister also said that the market of online software solutions and services will thrive as people avoid direct contact and mass gatherings and turn to online channels for meeting and learning.
Hung suggested that the Zavi development team should keep improving the software so that companies and people all over the country can access a reliable platform.
Zavi is hosted in Vietnam, thus its Vietnamese users will enjoy more advantages of security, connections and cost than users of foreign applications such as Zoom, Microsoft Team, among others, Hung added.
For his part, Vuong Quang Khai, from the Zavi development team, said Zavi has full features such as managing, creating meeting rooms with passwords, inviting participants to attend or leave the room.
Meeting rooms are secured with a login code. The room manager can turn off or on cameras or microphones. Currently, this application is only available for Windows operating system and iOs devices, Khai added.
He stressed that the development team has been researching and applying the speech recognition automatically to keep the minutes of the meeting.
"This will be like a virtual assistant or the meeting’s secretary, automatically records the content and the progress of the meeting," Khai said.
To use the application, users only need a Zalo account and log in at https://zavi.me.
