Delegates of the 13th National Party Congress gather today [January 25] in Hanoi to prepare for the congress that will open tomorrow and last until February 2.

The first of activities begins with laying a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum at Ba Dinh Square, center of Hanoi.
Nearly 1,600 representatives of the Vietnamese Communist Party members nationwide attend the preparatory meeting at the National Convention Center in My Dinh. The meeting will pass contents relating to the eligibility verification of delegates, regulations on working sessions and voting.
At the meeting, the delegates will proceed to elect the Presidium, Secretariat, and Verification Board.
The participants will check reports and documents to be discussed at the congress, including those reviewing the leadership of the Party Central Committee in the 12th tenure.
