Exhibition on Martine takes place in Hanoi

Nearly 100 paintings of the series “Martine” were introduced to the public at an exhibition titled “Martine, a friend from Europe”.
On December 12th , the exhibition themed “Martine, a friend from Europe” was held in Hanoi on the occasion of publishing the comic series “Martine” (20 episodes) in Vietnamese.

The event was organized by the Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation to Vietnam in collaboration with the Kim Dong Publishing House.
All the drawings provided by Casterman Publishing House (Belgium) and the Center of the Belgian Comic.
Coming to the exhibition, visitors both locals and foreigners will have an opportunity to discover adventures and experiences of the authors, who always further push the desire to praise children’s brightness. 
The exhibition will also help visitors understand why Martine is loved in all eras.
“Martine” was created by writer Gilbert Delahaye and illustrators Marcel Marlier in 1954. 
The classic series has been cherished by many generations of girls and boys throughout the world.
The comic book tells Martine’s adventure and journey to explore the world and her experiences in life along with intimate "friends" including dog Patapouf and cat Moustache.
With gentle stories, vivid and cheerful illustrations, “Martine” tells the readers about about the life immersed in tranquility nature. 
It has been translated into more than 30 languages and illustrated with numerous beautiful images.
To date, over 100 million copies of "Martine" have been published worldwide.
"Martine” was published by Kim Dong Publishing House May in December, 2014 in Vietnam including 20 episodes named "Martine in the sea”, “Martine at school”, “Martine at Lucie”s house”, etc. 
The exhibition will open to the public at the Exhibition House at 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hanoi until December 22nd.
