Electrical substation put into operation

The Vietnam Electricity’s National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) on November 30 put into operation the 220kV Thap Cham Electrical Substation and the 220kV Vinh Tan – Thap Cham Powerline after one year of construction.
The 220kV substation project costs VND453.5 billion (US$20.5 million) to build and consists of two transformers.
The Vinh Tan – Thap Cham Powerline has a total investment of VND326.7 billion (US$15.4 million), stretching 63.3km through seven districts of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces to connect 500kV Vinh Tan and 220kV Thap Cham Substations.
The two projects aim to connect the Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant to the national grid, while facilitating the 220kV grid operation in the South Central Coast and enhancing electrical supply reliability in Ninh Thuan province and neighbouring areas.
