The central city of Da Nang will host a beach festival speckled with sports, art, flash mob bikini performances, and culinary events on My Khe and Pham Van Dong beaches during April 30-May 5.
Deputy Head of Son Tra peninsula tourism beaches management board Nguyen Duc Vu remarked that the annual event will kick off an exciting summer vacation on the beaches and mountains of the city.
As scheduled, on the opening day, over 200 amateur cyclists will race from the beach road to finish at the top of Son Tra Mountain at 700 metres above sea level.
A flash mob bikini performance on Pham Van Dong beach will be held to encourage people to flash their swimsuits on the beach during the summer festivity, as the local residents rarely wore bikinis while bathing in the sea.
Beach volleyball, kayaking, coracle wagging, net fishing, and hip-hop contests will be held on May Day.
Top-three DJs, windy Quyen, Ngoc Anh, Nhunk, and some rock bands are slated to perform at the night beach party in the Dana beach entertainment centre on May 1-3.
