The trip was part of the Havana Party Committee's visit to Hanoi.

At the meeting, Hoang Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Me Linh District People's Committee, highlighted Me Linh's convenient location, close to Noi Bai International Airport, and the successful operation of over 300 businesses in the Quang Minh Industrial Park.

"Considering the development plan for Hanoi, Me Linh District is envisioned as an integral part of the city's expansion north of the Red River," Tuan said.

He added that Me Linh District has a rich agricultural heritage, particularly in the cultivation of flowers, ornamental plants and vegetables. The district has the largest flower-growing area among Vietnam's northern provinces, covering about 1,200 hectares, mainly dedicated to roses and orchids.

"The district's Party Committee, administration, and residents are committed to promoting high-tech agriculture, as exemplified by the prominent Me Linh F-Farm farm model," he said.

Going forward, he said, Me Linh will work in line with the directives of the Hanoi City Party Committee, the People's Assembly, and the People's Committee to further develop specialized and intensive agriculture.

This includes the study and implementation of mechanisms and policies to attract investment in high-tech agriculture, with the aim of increasing the economic value of land and improving the livelihood of local people, Tuan said.

During the meeting, First Secretary of the Havana Party Committee Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar expressed his gratitude to Me Linh District for the warm welcome. He noted that although their visit focused primarily on a flower-growing model, the delegation immediately observed that there was no vacant land within the Me Linh F-Farm. They were also witness to the use of various technological advances in agricultural production.

Iríbar emphasized that in Vietnam, the land is at the service of the people, and the people are at the service of the land. He recalled a recent meeting to discuss the goal of maximizing the use of land resources with Secretary Dinh Tien Dung of the Hanoi Party Committee. He acknowledged the development stages that Vietnam's agriculture, particularly in Hanoi, has been through in the production of export-quality products. He said Vietnamese products will have a strong position in the market with a focus on developing environmentally friendly, sustainable, and high-quality agriculture.

Highlighting the long-standing relationship between Vietnam and Cuba, Iríbar said that the love between the two countries knows no bounds. He emphasized the eternal friendship between Hanoi and Havana, stressing the responsibility of successive generations to maintain and develop these ties.

Prior to the meeting, the high-ranking delegation from the Havana Party Committee, together with leaders from Hanoi, visited the Me Linh F-Farm orchid farm, a large-scale ecosystem for flower and herb cultivation in Hanoi. The Cuban delegation admired the model and wished for specific cooperative programs between Hanoi and Havana to develop high-tech agricultural models.
