Artists want to use music as a bridge to unite people and foster a sense of mutual support among listeners, said Meritorious Artist Trinh Tung Linh, Director of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).

A portion of the concert's ticket sales, as well as donations from the audience, will be dedicated to helping the victims of Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam.

"The concert will feature a mix of classical pieces, international classics, and Vietnamese works. A composition by renowned Vietnamese composer Nguyen Van Thuong, 'Return to Motherland', will open the program," he said.

"This special piece of music, characterized by its strong national resonance and poignant, lyrical quality, would deeply touch the hearts of the audience. Through this work, the artists of VNSO wish to express their solidarity with the families of the soldiers and victims of the recent Typhoon Yagi," he added.

The original composition of the musical "Return to Motherland" has been adapted into several instrumental versions, including a rarely performed orchestral arrangement. The artists are now dedicated to perfecting a program that is both artistically compelling and supportive of charitable efforts.

Cellist Luu Ly Ly, pianist Nguyen Thai Ha, and members of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji.

The concert will feature Edouard Lalo's Cello Concerto in D Minor (Vietnam premiere) and Igor Stravinsky's Petrushka (1947 version).
