According to Michael Foley, Director of Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), the devices will use energy-saving radio wave Bluetooth for location and interconnection. They will automatically change between Wifi and Bluetooth when transmitting large files so as to save electrical energy.
Some existing laptops have both Bluetooth and Wifi functions on separate chips. Producers are trying to combine two technologies into a single chip.
