Bach Mai Hospital awarded the Independence Medal

Bach Mai General Hospital held a ceremony in Hanoi on February 19 to mark its 105th founding anniversary and receive the Independence Medal, third class (the second time) and many other noble titles awarded by the State President.
State President Truong Tan Sang and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien attended event.

Addressing the ceremony, State President Truong Tan Sang praised the great achievements that generations of leaders, doctors and staffs of Bach Mai hospital have achieved in the past years.
He stressed that improving public health will raise living standards and ensure human resources for national construction and defence.
President Truong Tan Sang suggested that Bach Mai General Hospital should promote research, acquire and apply advance medical and modern advances to gear towards a modern health facility and keep up with large hospitals in the region and the world.
Being the country's largest health centre, Bach Mai General Hospital should share the burden with the health sector to complete the above-mentioned targets, the State President said.
On this occasion, Bach Mai General Hospital for the second time received the Independence Order, third class, a noble award from the Party and State.
At present, Bach Mai Hospital is the largest medical facility in Vietnam. It provide services for the examination and treatment of about 1.4 million patients each year.
Besides the tasks of combating various diseases, the hospital also serves as one of the country’s leading scientific research and training centres.
During the event, two individuals of the hospital including Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Director of the hospital and Professor Dr. Nguyen Lan Viet, former Director of the Institute of Cardiology were awarded the Labour Hero title in the renovated period.
