Education and training are one of the most prominent areas of cooperation between Vietnam and Australia.

Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski said one of his primary missions is to enhance the cooperation between Hanoi and Australian schools.

At a meeting with Hanoi Mayor Tran Sy Thanh on July 18, Goledzinowski said that during his tenure in Vietnam, he would help Australian schools set up operations in Hanoi and provide high-quality and affordable education products and services.

The quality of education will make Hanoi the regional center for education and training, he said.

Andrew expected international students to come to Hanoi and enroll in Australian schools here.

He also highlighted education and training as one of the strongest activities between the two nations, along with trade, tourism, and delegation exchanges.

The relationship between Vietnam and Australia has become stronger than ever, the ambassador said.

He hoped that the two governments and people would promote bilateral relations, especially with the upcoming visit of Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong to Vietnam.

On the occasion of Minister Penny's visit, the Australian Embassy will host a gala with the theme "The Australian Flavor" at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

The gala, which is expected to be attended by about 1,000 guests, will be a valuable event to introduce Australian culture and products to the Vietnamese people, he said.

Andrew also hoped that Hanoi authorities would create favorable conditions for the event, saying that the event would honor the values of the Citadel and Hanoi.

Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, appreciated the support of Australian schools and authorities to local students.

He urged local Australian authorities to allow more Hanoi students to study and send teachers to assist Hanoi in educational activities.

Chairman Thanh also suggested that Hanoi and Australian localities expand cooperation in trade, education, tourism, and agriculture, as Australian farm produce is highly valued by Vietnamese consumers.

The Hanoi leader said the two sides should strengthen cooperation in the future and hold more meetings to boost bilateral ties.
