A Vietnamese photograph has been selected for display at Atkins CIWEM – a well-known photographic exhibition on the environment in London.

Det luoi danh ca o Dong Bang Song Cuu Long” (Fishing net making in Mekong Delta) by Vietnamese amateur photographer Do Tuyet Trinh will represent Vietnam at the exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society from June 23- July 4.

The annual exhibition, themed Atkins CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year, aims to discover and display the best environmental photos from around the world.

The event will showcase various outstanding works of photography that explore issues such as innovation, sustainable development, biodiversity, poverty, climate change, human rights, culture and population growth.

Trinh’s work depicts women from the fishing community of the Mekong Delta, and highlights the consequences of climate change and the inconsistency of the annual flood.

Born in Hanoi, Do Tuyet Trinh is an expert in the banking and financial sector. In 2010, she was awarded a Virgin Humphrey scholarship from the US Government to study at Boston University. She attended a press photographer course taught by famous journalist and photojournalist Joe Lippincott.

She won a number of international photo contests, including “The Atkins CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year 2014” in the UK and “The People & Planet International Photo Competition 2013” in Australia.
