The gold medals belonged to Nguyen Ngoc Duc and Phan Minh Duc from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.
Two other students from this school, Nguyen Nga Nhi and Pham Quoc Khanh, grabbed silver medals.
Meanwhile, Phan Ha Linh from the Hanoi-Amsterdam school and Dang Nguyen Tien Dat from the Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted gained bronze medals.
Vietnam ranks sixth in terms of the gold medal number. China’s Taiwan is named the first place, followed by India and Russia.
The Olympiad from December 3-10 drew the participation of 276 students from 48 countries and territories.
The 13th International Junior Science Olympiad presented 28 gold medals, 59 silver medals and 80 bronze medals. One gold medal and two silver medals were given to the best teams in the practice test.
The IJSO is an annual competition for 15-year-old students. The 14th event will be organised in the Netherlands in 2017.
