87 foreign journalists registered to cover the massive parade
The National Committee for major events organisation opened a press centre in Hanoi on August 31 at the National Assembly House.
Nearly 800 reporters including 87 foreign journalists from 145 press agencies at home and abroad have registered to cover the grand parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan pledged optimal conditions for domestic and foreign reporters to cover the country’s major celebrations, especially the grand parade and meeting on September 2.
The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that the press agencies would broadcast the events swiftly and accurately to people of all social strata.
He urged the journalists to strictly abide by the committee’s regulations to ensure security and safety for the meeting.
The massive parade, which will be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television, is expected to involve 30,000 people, including representatives from armed forces and various social backgrounds such as war veterans, workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, women and ethnic minority people.
