500 programmes to compete at the 35th National Television Festival

According to the organising board, about 500 programmes of television (TV) production units will compete in nine categories at the National Television Festival, which will be held in the central province of Quang Binh from December 16-19.
The annual event, hosted by the Vietnam National Television (VTV), aims to honour TV producers and outstanding programmes that have provided insight into the daily lives of the people of the country.

Deputy Chairman of the festival Nguyen Ha Nam said at recent press conference, about 100 TV stations, including 20 non-state owned studios will attend the festival.
During the festival, about 500 programmes will compete in nine categories, such as children's programmes, documentaries, reportage, science and educational programmes, as well as talk shows, dialogues and discussions, ethnic language programmes, music shows, and TV dramas.
The festival will award gold and silver medals, along with certificates, to the best programmes and producers. 
Besides, the event will organise two seminars on December 17, focusing on interactions and sport programme production.
A forum on TV broadcasting in islands and seas will take place on December 18, with the participation of historians, islands and seas TV programmes producers and fishermen.
The festival also offers a chance to provincial audiences to meet and interact with producers from every part of the country. The meeting will be held on December 17.
The opening ceremony will be aired live on VTV 1 at 8pm on December 16.
