15th Vietnam Poetry Day to give exchange opportunities for different generations of poets
The 15th Vietnam Poetry Day, which is scheduled to take place in Hanoi on February 11, will give exchange opportunities for groups of outstanding poets of different generations, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Literature Association Nguyen Quang Thieu said at the press conference in Hanoi on February 8.
The 15th Vietnam Poetry Day will kick off in Hanoi on February 11 (the 15th day of the first lunar month), Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Literature Association Nguyen Quang Thieu announced at the press conference in Hanoi on February 8.
This year's Poetry Day aims to honour outstanding poets in 2016, including those winning the association’s awards.
This year, the “Vietnam’s Children Poet Space” for children clubs’ activities will be designed with three pavilions beside those for cities and provinces, according to the organising board.
Meanwhile, the traditional poetry space will give exchange opportunities for groups of outstanding poets of different generations and authors winning awards of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.
Another space will also be held for poets from cities and provinces as well as poet clubs across the country to meet and introduce their works.
Particularly, this year’s event will also feature the “Path of Poet” for the first time to introduce to public the portrait and works of notable Vietnamese poets.
A highlight of the festival will be the performance of painting poems on ceramic products by artist Le Thiet.
Beside reciting poems and exchanging with poem lovers, visitors could enjoy a poem music show.
Young and senior poets are expected to get engaged in the event in celebration of the 60th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Literature Association.
An exhibition will also be organised as part of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, which will showcase documents, photos and items highlighting achievements of the association so far.
Localities will also respond to the event. In Thai Nguyen, it will be organised in the Dinh Hoa Safety Zone.
