100 billion VND donated to cadres and soldiers in the navy
The program was jointly held by Steering Committee of the South West province of Dong Thap the High Command of Border Guard, Coast Guard Vietnam, Vietnam fishery control.

Provinces, cities, organizations, individuals and enterprises have so far donated over VND100 billion to give spiritual and material support to cadres and soldiers in the navy, coast guard, fisheries surveillance forces and fishermen.

The information was released during a performance in the southern province of Dong Thap. Organised by the Steering Committee for South Western Region, the performance aimed to recognise the contributions of the navy, coast guard and surveillance forces, as well as poor fishermen who are at sea day and night, protecting national sovereignty.
Outstanding contributors were listed, including the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, the Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel), the Vietnam National Coal Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) and the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint-stock Company (Vinamilk).
Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister, Vu Van Ninh, recognised the precious contribution of organizations, individuals and enterprises across the country.
He highlighted the significance of sea and island space in the country’s economic and cultural development.
To make the East Sea a peaceful, stable and cooperative region, he noted that Vietnam remain consistent in its policy to address disputes by peaceful measures in line with international laws; adding that the country asked foreign countries, large or small, strong or weak, to respect international laws, in particular the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC)./.
