Son Doong and Va caves featured in BBC series

Son Doong and Va caves are featured in the famous BBC series "Planet Earth", one of the world's most popular nature programs. From January 27 to February 19, 2022, the six-member BBC film crew from the US and UK brought a ton of film equipment and machinery to capture Vietnam's natural beauty.

The crew spent 18 consecutive days filming in the En and Va caves and the world's largest cave, Son Doong, capturing stunning images of the cave world and the creatures that live there.

Highest FDI disbursement in five years

According to the latest report from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as of November 20, the realized capital of foreign investment projects was estimated at $20.25 billion, the highest in 2018-2023. The total registered capital reached nearly $28.85 billion, up 14.8 percent year on year.

M&A value reaches $4.4 billion

The value of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the first ten months reached over $4.4 billion, down 23% year-on-year, KPMG Vietnam announced at the 15th M&A Vietnam Forum on November 28. The market is currently affected by a global slowdown trend due to unfavorable economic factors, and KPMG predicts that the M&A value this year will be lower than in 2022.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on November 28 a program to choose 100 outstanding enterprises to participate in the Vietnam Pavilion on Alibaba.com. Registration for small and medium-sized enterprises will be open from November 28, 2023 to January 15, 2024.

New and reinstated businesses up 1.2 times

According to the Business Registration Administration, the number of newly-established and restarted businesses reached more than 200,000 in the first 11 months of 2023, up 3.5% year on year and 1.2 times higher than the average number of newly-established and restarted businesses in 2018-2022 (164,525). This indicates a positive response from the business sector to the economic recovery in the final months of this year and next year.
