The second International Watercolor exhibition to be held in Hanoi

The second international watercolor exhibition will be opens at the Hanoi Museum, Nam Tu Liem District in the capital on October 23, creating an opportunity for visitors to take a close look at the original artworks of world-class watercolor artists.

Organized by the International Watercolor Society (IWS) in Vietnam in collaboration with the Hanoi Museum, the show will feature 217 watercolor works by 216 artists from 45 countries.
The event is expected to be attended by world-renowned watercolor artists such as Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi and Amit Kapoor. In addition, there will be a painting performance by Atanur Dogan, president of IWS, and invited artists at home and abroad including Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi, Mai Nguyen, Bui Duy Khanh, and Yuko Nagayama on October 23 and 27. 
As part of the event, around 100 artists whose works are on display at the exhibition will join hands to produce a 40-meter-long watercolor painting on October 25 on Cat Ba Island, the longest of its kind in Vietnam.
Lasting until November 15, the exhibition will help the public gain an insight into cultures, traditions and lifestyles as well as diverse painting styles of countries around the world. After the exhibition, the organizing committee will hold workshops and painting displays by international artists.
In 2015, the first International Watercolor Exhibition was be held in Hanoi from April 11 to 15. The exhibition is the convergence of more than 90 paintings of over 40 world-renowned watercolor artists from UK, US, France, Italy, Turkey, Canada, China, Poland, Hungary, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan Taiwan, Nepal, Japan, Thailand, Russia, Uruguay... and IWS Vietnam watercolor painter groups.
There are typical artists of the exhibition, namely, Bui Duy Khanh (Vietnam), Liu Yi (China), Stan Miller (US), Atanur (Canada – Founder of IWS), Direk Kingnok (Thailand), Jia Li (China), Chien Chungwei (China), Alvaro Castanet (Uruguay), Keiko Hoshino (Japan), Ng WoonLam (Singapore), Thomas Schaller (US), ect.
IWS - Vietnam (International Watercolor Society Vietnam) is a watercolor art community under the branch of international IWS. The event is established to develop the Watercolor Vietnam Art. Besides, it is necessary to find and collect water- color artists to create a solid community of IWS in general and IWS-Vietnam in particular.
Therefore, IWS-Vietnam warmly welcomes professional artists, amateurs, and students, as well as all those who love Vietnam watercolour art to participate in posting their works of watercolor art to have more opportunities to interact and learn to make watercolor art of Vietnam integrate with the international art.
