Chinh was endorsed by 100% of 479 National Assembly deputies present to remain as the head of the Government in the 2021-2026 term.

Chinh took an oath of office by vowing his loyalty to the Motherland, People, and Constitution of Vietnam.

Four months ago, Chinh was elected as the Prime Minister of Vietnam in replacement of his predecessor Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who this morning was re-elected as the State President.

In his inaugural speech, Chinh said he will prioritize building a strong and effective government that puts the nation’s interest at its core.

The Government leader acknowledged the difficult moment that the country is going through while saying the Government would continue to pursue the vaccine strategy to protect the people.

“There would be more supporting policies for the people and enterprises in the coming time,” Chinh said, noting in the long term, strong efforts would be a focus on addressing legal bottlenecks that could hinder development.

Meanwhile, Vietnam would continue to promote a green economy and address climate change issues.

“Staying active in the Industry 4.0 and subsequent digital transformation process is essential for Vietnam to improve productivity and economic competitiveness,” Chinh noted.

In this context, Chinh stressed the people would stay at the core and is the driving force for growth. “Vietnam will not sacrifice cultural and human value for growth,” he said.
