Hai Yen - Lien Ha 17:04, 2023/11/22
Hanoi welcomes Russian businesses to explore opportunities in the city, particularly in technology transfer, food production, animal husbandry, and agriculture.

Hanoi aims to enhance collaboration with Russian localities, seeking more substantial outcomes in investment, economy, and trade, said Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh during a meeting with the Governor of Kaluga Region, Vladislav Shapshah, and Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko today [November 22].

During the meeting, Shapshah stressed that Kaluga Region stands as one of Russia's most economically advanced regions, leading in industrial growth, investment investment, real income growth, and use of advanced technologies in production.

The region is home to 12 world-class scientific research institutes in physics and hydrometeorology.

He emphasized Kaluga's continuous support for businesses, fostering favorable mechanisms for business and investment activities, with the presence of Vietnamese businesses in the region.

Building on the strong traditional ties between Russia and Vietnam, the Governor expressed his keen interest in developing relations with Vietnamese provinces and cities, particularly Hanoi.

As the next year marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Principles of Friendly Relations between Vietnam and Russia, Shapshah expressed his hope to strengthen diplomatic relations with Hanoi through cultural exchanges and expected favorable conditions from the city government in this endeavor.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh congratulated Kaluga Region on its development achievements and echoed the sentiments of the enduring traditional relationship between Vietnam and Russia.

He emphasized the importance of instilling these sentiments in the younger generation through cultural, tourism, and sports exchanges and advancements in education and training.

Concurring with the Governor of Kaluga Region, Thanh said that the year 2024, marked by significant milestones in the bilateral relationship, presents an opportune moment to bolster established traditions and advance cooperation for the future.

"Hanoi will further promote cooperation with Russian localities in investment, economy, and trade. Kaluga's strengths align with Hanoi's development priorities in technology and science," said Thanh.

He encouraged businesses from Kaluga to explore opportunities in Hanoi, particularly in technology transfer, food production, livestock, and agriculture.

Thanh pledged to create conducive conditions for the Russian Embassy's activities in the area and for collaboration between Hanoi and Kaluga.

At the meeting, Russian Ambassador Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko highlighted promising areas of cooperation, including energy technology development and cultural exchanges, based on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

The Ambassador expressed optimism that the meeting would establish a solid foundation for future cooperation between Hanoi and Russian localities.
