Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung receives German Ambassador Christian Berger
During the meeting with Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung in Hanoi on June 24, German Ambassador to Vietnam Christian Berger fully agreed with city`s plan of planting about 1 million trees in the next 5 years.

During the reception, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung introduced to the German Ambassador the city's development orientations turning into a green, clean and beautiful capital in the next 5 years, including the socio-economic development plan, infrastructure improvement, urban embellishment and environmental treatment.
To implement the objectives, Hanoi authorities targets to build dozens of parks, with some international standard parks and plant 1 million trees, Chung said.
Besides, the city plans to expand the systems of water production, wastewater treatment, lighting, garbage collection, environment processing (water, air) with the world's current advanced equipments, mainly from European technology, including the Federal Republic of Germany, the Hanoi's leader noted.
Hanoi will also invest in building 6 subway lines, embellish its lighting system with the alternative energy saving device (LED) in the public areas, and build standardized vocational training centers, he added.
Chairman Chung expressed his wish that Ambassador Christian Berger will be the bridge to call for more German businesses investing in Hanoi.
For his part, Ambassador Christian Berger expressed his impressment about ancient and friendly beauty of Hanoi capital.
"I went to many countries and have rarely seen the roads and streets planted numerous trees in the world such as Hanoi", shared the ambassador.
Agreeing with the Hanoi leader's proposals, Ambassador Christian Berger confirmed that he will try his best to connect with the German and European corporations and firms that are interested in doing business in areas that Hanoi city is calling for investors.
