Austrian businesses want to support Hanoi for waste treatment

On November 22 afternoon, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a meeting with Mr. Thomas Loidl, Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam.

At the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his pleasure at the development of Austria - Vietnam good relations in recent years. Ambassador said that Austria has experience in development of modern technology, towards green development and sustainability; have more potential for cooperation with the Capital. Also during the meeting, Mr. Jianfang Meng, representatives of MUT Group (Austria) in the field of water treatment, waste treatment, introduced the typical services and projects of the Group, to seek opportunities for working and investing in Hanoi.

City Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said, the issue of environmental treatment is a top priority of the Capital, towards the goal of sustainable development. Accordingly, the City has set a target of full mechanization of waste collection equipment in 2017. Until 2020, the City garbage collection policy will be handled to generate electricity. Hanoi has currently urged to attract investors to involve in 4 regional districts: Ba Vi, Soc Son, Chuong My and Thanh Tri, so far there have been more than 20 investors to register and be considered.

In addition, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee is also considering to process ponds, waste water to the people in the province Capital, focus on training high-quality human resources; and the policy of import production lines for industrial plants. On his position, City Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said he would direct the relevant authorities to consider investment proposals for Austrian businesses, as well as seeking opportunities of bilateral cooperation between the two sides.
