Walking streets in the Old Quarter of Hanoi inaugurated

On October 3, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the capital’s liberation, People`s Committee of Hoan Kiem District and Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company officially opened 6 walking streets which are located in Grade 1 Conservation Area in the Hanoi’s Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem district.
The six expanded walking streets including Hang Buom, Ma May, Hang Giay, Luong Ngoc Quyen, Ta Hien, and Dao Duy Tu are connected with walking streets of Dong Xuan - Hang Dao with the view of serving visitors both locals and foreigners to discover Hanoi's Old Quarter at night
 
 
Built in the 18th-19th centuries, ancient buildings in this area such as Bach Ma temple, ancient house at 87 Ma May St., and Huong Tuong temple, etc, help visistors learn more about traditional history as well as culture of Thang Long-Ha Noi. 
Besides, coming to the relics, tourists can enjoy free arts and cultural activities such as Hat Xam (Xam singing), Chau Van singing, Ca Tru singing, etc. 
A jazz performance will be held on the sidewalk to serve tourists who love contemporary art. 
Thus, the expansion of 6 walking streets located in Grade 1 Conservation Area in the Hanoi’s Old Quarter has created oppotunities for visitors to have new activities, and experience a journey  "sightseeing - listening – shopping - enjoying traditional specialties" when arriving in the Old Quarter of Hanoi.
Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company and relevant agencies have also organized additional services to meet the demands of visitors, arranging security forces, parking lot, and maintaining area’s sanitation, etc.
Along with walking streets of Dong Xuan-Hang Dao, 6 walking streets located in Grade 1 Conservation Area in the Hanoi’s Old Quarter are expected to draw a large number of visitors on weekends.
