13:14, 2015/02/02
Thai actor and director Troy Le plays a leading role in new horror film Oan Hon, a joint Vietnamese-Thai production.
Troy and his partners, Siripong Rungsritong, worked together on the film's script to meet the taste of Vietnamese fans.
The US$1 million film is produced by Metal Film in co-operation with its Thai partner Suptar House.
It features secrets about Troy (played by Troy) and his wife Charman (played by Vietnamese fashion model Lili Lutta), who live in a haunted house.
Troy goes mad after his wife's death at the house. He and his close friend (played by Thai actress Pumwaree Yodkamol) invite a shaman (played by Thai actor Saichia Wongwirot) to expel evil spirits from the house.

The film includes visual and sound effects by Thai experts.
After the group launched the film in HCM City last week, Oan Hon and its actors received a warm response from many fans.
In his interview with local media, Troy said he had worked hard to "prove himself in his first project with Thai colleagues".
Both talented Pumw-aree and Saichia are popular in Thailand.
Pumwaree performed in Thai blockbusters Ong-bak in 2003 and Pisaj in 2004.
Stuntman and actor Saichia was invited to play in Hollywood films such as Batman Begins and Ninja: Shadow of a Tear in 2005 and 2013, respectively.

"I spent five years preparing the film," Troy said.

"I believe in our film's success because the taste of Vietnamese and Thai audiences is the same," said Troy, adding that Thai horror films recently released in HCM City were received well by audiences.

He was invited to play a supporting role in Mat Xac (The Lost), a horror film produced by Metal Film in co-operation with LongLong Media.

The film is about the dark side business of cosmetic surgery, and was considered the best work of its kind last year.

In his mid-twenties, Troy has also been involved in TV commercials, music videos and feature films in Thailand.

Oan Hon will be filmed in both Viet Nam and Thailand.

Its post-production will be completed in Thailand later this year.

According to the film's producers, they will co-operate in a series of films to screen in Viet Nam after Oan Hon.
