The goals were set forth at a recent meeting in Phnom Penh to discuss how to further enhance business and investment activities of Vietnamese enterprises operating in Cambodia.
In 2014-2015, AVIC will focus its investment in Cambodia in agriculture, energy, and aviation. Products of Viet Nam’s strength will be promoted such as fertilizer and energy.
The association plans to help with increasing the annual number of Vietnamese tourists to Cambodia by 30% to 1.6 million by 2015.
By the end of 2013, Viet Nam was Cambodia’s third largest trade partner among more than 140 countries, territories trading with the country, and the fifth biggest foreign investor, with 128 projects with a registered investment totalling over $3 billion.
The Vietnamese business community in Cambodia also helped the number of Cambodian people living in poverty and upgraded local facilities.
Last year, Vietnamese firms donated $5 million for social activities in the host country.
