Vietnamese singer becomes champion of int'l opera contest

Surpassing 150 competitors, Ninh Duc Hoang Long, a Vietnamese student, secured his victory at the ninth Simandy Jozsef International Singing Competition in Hungary on April 4.

In the final round of the category for 18- to 25-year-olds, he delivered an impressive performance of “Hazám Hazám” (My Country), a popular song sung by famous Hungarian opera singer József Simándy. 
Ninh Duc Hoang Long was born in 1991 in the northern province of Ninh Binh. He studied at the Viet Nam National Academy of Music before becoming a student at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary.
