Vietnamese photographers Tran Tuan and Trung Pham Huy were shortlisted with their works for travel category in the Open Competition of the Sony World Photography Awards 2020, according to the latest announcement by the World Photography Organization.

The two shortlisted works of the Vietnamese photographers included “Washing harvested waterlily in a flooded field in Long An province” by Trung Pham Huy and the “Tea Drying” work showing tea sun drying in Moc Chau district, Son La province by Tran Tuan.
Two works of the Vietnamese photographers and other winning and shortlisted works will be celebrated across the World Photography Organization’s online channels and platforms using dedicated content including videos, presentations and Q&As.

Held by the World Photography Organization, the internationally acclaimed Sony World Photography Awards is the annual event and 2020’s is its 13th holding. Over 345,000 images were submitted to the Sony World Photography Awards 2020 competition and over 190,000 qualified for the Open competition from which the National Awards winner was selected.
Ten categories of competition include architecture, creative, culture, landscape, motion, natural world & wildlife, portrait, still life, street photography and travel. More than 100 photographers were shortlisted in the 2020 competition alongside ten category winners.
Each winner receives the latest digital imaging equipment from Sony to develop their vision and will go on to compete for the prestigious Open Photographer of the Year title and a US$5,000 reward.
The overall Open winner will be announced on June 9 on the World Photography Organization and Sony’s online platforms.
