Vietnam wins 8 medals in first participation in International Olympiad of Metropolises
The Vietnamese delegation leaves great impression at the first time participating in the event which gathers big cities in the world.

The Vietnamese delegation also gained a Silver Cup and finished in Top 3 most excellent cities in the Blitz-contest, an independent competition that requires each team to solve 80 tasks in two hours.
The Vietnamese delegation comprised eight students of the 12th grade from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School competing in four subjects namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Informatics.
Nguyen Dinh Hieu, Duong Trung Kien, and Nguyen Bui Quoc Anh obtained gold medals in Informatics and Chemistry. Meanwhile, Le Duc Khoi, Ho Phi Dung and Tran Minh Quan won silver medals in Mathematics and Physics; while bronze medals in Mathematics and Informatics were bestowed upon Ha Huy Khoi and Nguyen Tuan Hoang.
International Olympiad of Metropolises is a contest for students from 14 to 18 years old from big cities worldwide. It was first held in 2016, attracting 22 teams from 18 countries. After four years, the competition was extended with representatives for 45 cities from 32 countries and territories such as Helsinki, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt, Boston, New York, Beijing, Hanoi, among others.
