Vietnam to launch photo contest on ocean beauty

A photo contest themed “Homeland’s sea and islands” aims to introduce and promote the role, potentiality and beauty of Vietnam’s seas and islands to domestic and foreign art lovers.
The information was announced at a press conference on June 28. Accordingly, the contest was co-organized by the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Propaganda Commission, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

The contest is open for local people and foreigners working and living in Vietnam from all ages. Participants are encouraged to submit photos under specific topics, including the beauty of nature, people in the sea, islands of Vietnam.
In addition, participants can submit photos on life moments, daily activities, customs, habits and cultures of coastal people in Vietnam; photos of visitor’s experiences with local people on sea and islands; protecting the security, order, safety and sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Vietnamese armed forces; praising outstanding individuals; economic activities and images showing the friendship cooperation of Vietnam and other countries in the East Sea; cultural works, artforms, festivals in the sea and islands of Vietnam.
There is one first prize worth VND15 million (US$660), one second prize worth VND10 million (US$440), one third prize worth VND7 million (US$308), and 10 consolation prizes.
Contestants can submit their images through the website: www.anhnghethuatbiendao2018.com. The deadline for applications is midnight on August 31, 2018.
