Police of provinces and cities will closely coordinate with the People's Committees of districts and related units to review all people who entered Vietnam from April 4 to May 5 and have undergone the mandatory quarantine period.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has recently issued an official letter requesting the People's Committees of cities and provinces to review all incoming persons who have undergone the mandatory 21-day quarantine period since April 4.

The evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic in many countries in the world worsens, especially in neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Thailand.

Since early May, Vietnam has recorded a number of incoming persons, who despite finishing their 14-day concentrated quarantine, still infected others. As a result, the coronavirus infection has spread in the community in different provinces and cities.

Therefore, police of provinces and cities will closely coordinate with the People's Committees of districts and related units to review all people who entered Vietnam from April 4 to May 5 and have undergone the mandatory quarantine period.

Localities must finish the revision and send a document to the Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health by May 25 to report to the National Steering Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

People's Committees of provinces and cities continue to assess measures against Covid-19 at venues with high risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection such as bars, pubs, karaoke parlors, wet markets, bus stations, and entertainment facilities.

Besides, localities will carry out tests to detect both SARS-CoV-2 antigens and antibodies for the above-mentioned cases. Those detected with a positive antigen will be treated as a Covid-19 patient in accordance with regulations.

Furthermore, from May 5, all people who have completed their 21-day compulsory quarantine period in Vietnam are required to remain at their quarantine facilities.

Vietnam started suffering a new Covid-19 wave three weeks ago and infections have since then spread to 29 cities and provinces.

At the time of writing, the nation has registered 4,512 cases, including 2,687 recoveries and 37 deaths. More than 40,000 people are being quarantined.
