Vietnam strongly asserts sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa

In the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of Oct.23, in Hanoi, Deputy Spokesman Pham Thu Hang informed of foreign activities of Vietnam in the coming time and answered domestic and international reporters.
Answering questions suggesting that the response of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam to China illegally building airport on the Spratly Islands of Vietnam, as well as responding to spoken Chinese information pro-Taiwan (China) deployed gunboats resident in Aba island of the Spratly Islands of Vietnam, Pham Thu Hang - Deputy spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, said: "once again, we strongly affirm the undisputed sovereignty of Vietnam for Paracels and Spratlys. All activities of the parties in this area without the permission of Vietnam are illegal and invalid ".
 


 

Ms. Pham Thu Hang stated that Vietnam has sufficiently legal basis and historical evidence to assert its sovereignty in Paracel Islands and Spratly Islands. "We will resolutely oppose any activity unilaterally to change the status quo in this area", she said. Related to avalanches in Nepal, Ms. Pham Thu Hang said: "According to information from the Embassy of Vietnam in India, Nepal concurrently, on Oct. 21, the Embassy of Nepal in India confirmed that there is no Vietnam citizens in the lists of persons killed in avalanches dated Oct. 15. For information related to the registration of citizen Vietnam trekking in the end September, early October, but so far not contacted, Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Embassy of Vietnam in India concurrently Nepal in close collaboration with the Nepalese authorities until the verification of the actual status of these people."
