Vietnam should make public China violations in South China Sea: Lawmaker
Vietnam has justice and people all over the world should know the truth about South China Sea issues.
Hanoi needs to make public the details of all Chinese violations of Vietnamese waters in the South China Sea, which is known as the East Sea in Vietnam, a lawmaker has said at the ongoing National Assembly sitting.

It’s necessary to make all the violations public to help Vietnamese people, international concerned people and Chinese people know about it, lawmaker Nguyen Lan Hieu was quoted by VnExpress as saying on October 30.
Lawmaker Nguyen Lan Hieu is a famous doctor and upright politician.
“We have justice and by showing justice, international people, including Chinese people will understand the extravagance of the government of China,” Hieu said.
“In fact, all measures we have been using over the past time that combine both cooperation and protest in a determined and consistent way against sovereignty violations don’t help ease their hegemony ambition," Hieu noted.
For that reason, the lawmaker said that Vietnam needs to have new methods which will be in line with the principle that no compromise on issues relating to sovereignty integration and independence as stated by Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President Nguyen Phu Trong.
Many lawmakers have proposed the government bring Chinese violation case to international tribunals, Hieu said, adding that the lawsuit must focus on all Chinese violations of Vietnamese territorial waters including exclusive economic zone and continental shelf in the south region of the South China Sea, near Bai Tu Chinh (Vanguard Bank) and China’s illegal militarization of structures in the sea over the past years.
The South China Sea issues have been raised at Vietnam’s National Assembly session which will last for a month beginning on October 21.
At the ongoing National Assembly session, many lawmakers have expressed concerns about Chinese repeated violations of Vietnamese waters, calling the leaders to have tougher moves to deal with the situation.
Top Vietnamese leaders namely State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan have all voiced concerns about the situation in the sea and stressed that the country will do by all means to protect sovereignty.
Since early July 2019, China sent a survey vessel and armed escorts to Vietnam’s waters while shamelessly said it conducts survey operations within its waters.
Many countries including big ones like the US, the UK, India, France, and Germany voiced over the violations, calling Beijing’s activities “coercion” and “bullying tactics”.
